The One Vision, One Future, Campaign for McLeod Health, continues a commitment to excellence and access inspired by Dr. F.H. McLeod in 1899, McLeod Health embarked on this historical campaign to enlarge and modernize our Cancer Center and to expand the Hospice House and the Dillon Emergency Department.

The new McLeod Dillon
Emergency Department

The McLeod Dillon Emergency Expansion and the McLeod Hospice House Addition have been completed thanks to a generous community of donors and patients' lives are being impacted daily.

Yet much work is yet to be done to provide funding for the new McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research.

The new Center, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2013, will provide personalized care in an environment dedicated to the physical and emotional support of cancer patients and their families.

Benefits of the New McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research:

The shell of the McLeod Center for
Cancer Treatment and Research has been completed.  With the help of our generous community, it will open for patients
in late fall 2013.
  • The relocation of all services needed by a patient facing a cancer diagnosis to one location.  Oncology and Pulmonology Physicians will be located on the s econd floor with patient care services on the first floor. This is not only a convenience but is essential as patients and their families deal with the many effects of cancer treatment.
  • There will be improved services for IV Therapy as a new more comfortable and expanded area will be available overlooking the Healing Garden.(see architectural rendering below)
  • The latest technology in Radiation Oncology will be available with the addition of the state-of-the-art Stereotactic Radiosurgery.  This very specialized equipment will allow for the treatment of cancer not generally accessible through traditional surgery.
  • Patient education and resources will be an important part of the care available in the Cancer Center.  A convenient resource center and dedicated personal cancer nurse navigators will be an essential aspect of the continuum of care.
  • The McLeod Cancer Clinic, which is the only not-for-profit free cancer clinic in the state, will be housed in the new Center and patients will receive the same high quality care. Clinic patients are cared for by the same compassionate physicians (who volunteer their time) as patients with coverage.
